Peace Begins With Me

Every year, on the second Thursday of September, we gather together in our Chapel to join in prayer as we celebrate Unity World Day of Prayer. We meld with millions of Souls around the globe who are praying for Peace, Peace in our lifetime. This planetary Peace is possible when we realize that each of us is individually responsible for manifesting Universal Peace. How do we accomplish such an enormous result? By accepting fully that, “Peace begins with me!”

Say that now, out loud, affirming with all the Power you can consciously muster, “Peace begins with me!” In this statement resides the seed of world Peace, for before we witness the Love and harmony moving throughout all of humanity, we must experience that same Love and harmony in our own lives.

We are the agents of Peace that we have been waiting for. We must be the Peaceful Souls that we truly are. Our Christ nature must be first and foremost in every thought, word and action. It is time to adhere to the Unity principle: “Knowing and understanding the Laws of Life, also called Truth, is not enough. We must live the Truth we know through our thoughts, words and actions.”

We must follow the teachings of the Master Jesus as he is quoted in the Gospel of Luke: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” We must be the very best Christ we can be in every moment, recognizing the Christ in every other person. In this recognition of family, we respect, honor and appreciate each other as the beautiful Spiritual beings that we are. To truly Love our neighbors as ourselves, we must first Love ourselves!

In the silence there is Peace.
In the silence there is unspoken Joy.
In the silence there’s release
From a world full of chaos and noise.
So I wait for these precious moments
When I hear all that could never be said.
And right here, in this Holy Silence,
I find God, I find myself.

When we find God, we find ourselves. Let’s discover the Truth of the Peace that we are and be the anchors of Peace in this seemingly chaotic world. By doing our work, we bring Peace to our lives, and Peace to this planet.

We are living expressions of Divine light flowing forth into the world.

Prayer is a powerful tool for creating a world of peace and plenty. In prayer we lift our thoughts above sensory information to realize the truth beyond appearances. In prayer we connect with the Source of all that is and the creative power that makes it manifest. In prayer we lift up one another, beholding the life, wisdom and love within each of us.

We know that darkness is not a separate power; simply the absence of light. Just as a single candle radiates its light, I shine my light through prayer. I am one candle, and together we are many. Prayer by prayer we illumine the darkness till every corner of the globe is aglow with Divine light.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.”--Isaiah 60:1

We are the Light, we are the Love, we are the Peace that brings Peace to our world. And so it is!
